Tobias Holmlund is part of the research group led by Dr Sonja de Groot that received a 2020 SCI Collaboration Grant to attend ISCoS2020:Virtual.
Tobias graduated as physiotherapist from Karolinska Institute (2008) and worked with persons with a traumatic SCI at the spinal unit at Rehab Station Stockholm. He was a core member of the Swedish team that established the SCI care at the Princess Marina Hospital in Gaborone Botswana. His research career started in 2013 and he defended his PhD thesis entitled ‘Energy Expenditure and Accelerometer Cut-points for Sedentary Behavior and Physical Activity in Spinal Cord Injury – Implication for Guiding and Prevention’ in 2019. He is currently working at the Swedish school of sports and health science on epidemiological data from the Swedish working population to describe how change in cardio-respiratory fitness affects the risk for hypertension, sleep and self-rated health.
