The Marigold Southey & Freemasons Foundation Victoria SCI Research Grant

As part of the SRI’s program strategy, this Project Grant aims to build research capacity and capability within the SCI field.

Applications open 2 March – 3 May 2026

A grant of up to $60,000 in total over one to two years is being offered to support emerging outstanding early and mid-career investigators undertaking research within the spinal cord injury (SCI) field at a Victorian-based university, hospital or research institute. This offering furthers the SRI’s commitment to support emerging researchers to build SCI research capability and capacity, with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of people with SCI.

The grant is named in honour of SRI Patron, Marigold Southey, to recognise her life’s work in community service, volunteerism and philanthropy, and a commitment to helping make life better for others.

The grant is made possible with the funding support of Freemasons Foundation Victoria.
