This year, the SRI has supported me to achieve my goal, which is to present my works and obtain international research collaborations from the ISCoS 2022 virtual conference again via the SRI Collaboration Grant. Although I could not attend the conference real-time since it occurred during my travel to Switzerland to start my postdoctoral fellowship, which is also one of the opportunities I receive from the SRI, I could catch up with the conference by accessing recorded videos. I also had an opportunity to report results of my studies via two posters (Fibroblast Growth Factor-21 resistance in SCI and Study protocol of using cannabinoids for reducing spasticity in SCI) and one talking poster (the Fibroblast Growth Factor-21 one) presentation. I also attended many lectures and poster presentations, some of which were from the Swiss Paraplegic Center team, such as Dr. Inge Eriks-Hoogland and Dr. Anke Scheel-Sailer, which I could further discuss with them afterwards. In addition, the SRI also supported my mentee, Dr. Nattha Boonthanakorn, to attend the conference in person, which brought her invaluable opportunity and potentially inspired her to become involved in SCI research. I would like to thank the SRI for this grant that brought Nattha and me these invaluable opportunities. We wish to expand these benefits to people with SCI as much as possible.
